The Talking 2030 Discussion Paper was released on 23 March 2018 by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The Discussion Paper aims to consolidate expert industry opinion on how to accelerate the growth of Australian agriculture to achieve the National Farmers’ Federation’s vision of $100 billion in farm gate output by 2030.
The Discussion Paper will form the basis of a national conversation, which will take place at 13 regional roundtables across the country over the coming months. The NFF will use the paper and subsequent stakeholder feedback to shape its policy platform for the coming decade.
From the Discussion Paper...
Can Australian agriculture go carbon neutral by 2050?
Can we negotiate preferential access to Asia's top 5 markets by 2025?
Can we connect every farm to the Internet of Things by 2030?
What if every farming region had its own air freight hub?
Can Australia lead the world in blockchain for food & fibre?
Is the farm sector ready for the shift to electric vehicles?
How do we make Aussie farms an employer of choice?
How do we unlock new sources of capital to enable growth and farm succession?
